Summary:
The Idaho Department of Correction is currently recruiting for an Employment Coordinator. If you're a self-starter, enjoy building and maintaining community partnerships and want to be a part of helping residents in our custody reintegrate into our communities, this job is for you. As the Nampa Community Reentry Center Employment Coordinator, you'll be a part of a progressive innovative team whose mission it is to create viable and sustainable opportunities for residents returning to their community and their families. Employment Coordinators directly impact successful reentry from prison to the community by partnering closely with clients, security and case management staff and the community partners to assist clients in securing employment before release.
Responsibilities:
Accepts and screens work release or work experience applications. Interviews residents to determine employment of training needs and matches jobs in relations to residents' abilities. Assist work release residents in creating resumes and develop interviewing skills. Makes face to face presentations to community partners to promote and talk about the advantages of hiring residents. Explain the Mission of the CRC's, department and community goals. Identifies problems with programs and recommends corrective action. Create and maintain excel spreadsheets and reports. Monitors time and work records and ensures residents are following established rules. Conduct job site checks/phone checks. Minimum
Qualifications:
Some knowledge of fundamental of social science.Typically gained by completion of at least 12 credit hours of college-level coursework in behavioral or social sciences i.e., psychology, social work, and/or criminal justice OR completion of an internship (at least 150 hours) related to this field OR at least 1 year of full-time experience involving daily interaction with clients and/or offenders to address behaviors, i.e. experience as a Law Enforcement Officer, Correctional Officer, criminal justice or mental health professional involving interaction with clients or offenders to address human behaviors (Office/administrative support work is non-qualifying). Some knowledge of hiring practices and job counseling techniques.Typically gained by successful completion of college-level course (equivalent to three semester hours) OR completion of a three-day course (approximately 20 hours) specific to hiring practices and job counseling OR successful completion of three months work experience in hiring practices and job counseling. Some knowledge of interviewing methods.This is typically gained by at least six months work experience interviewing others (General reception experience is non-qualifying) or through successful completion of a college course or equivalent training specific to effective interviewing methods/practices. Experience working with groups or individuals to promote a program or achieve a common goal.Typically gained by at least 6 months of full-time work experience where working with groups or individuals to promote a program or achieve a common goal. Experience making public presentations.Typically gained by at least 6 months of full-time work experience where preparing oral reports and making public presentations was a primary responsibility of the job. Experience using word processing software to format, print, and save documents. Typically gained byat least 1 year of office experience using word processing software to format a variety of business documents; OR have recent word processing training coupled with at least 6 months' experience performing word processing in a business office setting. When responding to work experience statements, the intent is that this be full-time work (at least 35 hours per week). Two years of experience working 20 hours per week equates to one year of work experience. Willingness to work in a correctional facility to assist felony residents with employment development and job placement.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
