From your PASSION to oursManages the production departments' productivity, operating costs, production specifications, and ensures top quality is achieved in accordance with plant standards.
Works closely with maintenance to ensure equipment is up to standards.
Recommends improvements in operating procedures and working conditions.
RequirementsFrom your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include:
Analyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how these results positively or negatively affect department p erformance.
Monitors floor activities in the department by checking machine speeds, adjusting equipment as necessary, and troubleshooting for the packaging workers on the lines.
Key contributor to the ISO 22000 implementation.
Ensure the sustainability of the food safety programs in the department.
Participate in customers audits.
Works closely with Maintenance on a variety of issues related to equipment and plant maintenance.
Works closely with Quality Control Manager and Laboratory personnel on a wide variety of areas including quality of raw materials, product specifications, and good manufacturing and sanitation practices.
Responsible to verify Food safety records of the department.
Participates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations.
Hires and evaluates staff/department performance; recommends and initiates training, development, communication, and discipline, as appropriate.
Works closely with the Production Planner to ensure employee schedule is accurate and PTO/time off is being managed as per company policy.
Uphold all rules pertaining to confidentiality of information regarding Lactalis products, recipes, and employee information.
Travel and / or extended or off work hours may be required.

EducationBachelor's Degree from four-year college or technical school preferredExperience 3 - 4 years related experience in field Food production experience preferred.
Specialized Knowledge Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook Lotus Basic algebra skills OSHA, USDA, HACCP rules and regulations at all levels (Plant, State, and Federal) Skills / AbilitiesAttention to detail and accuracy in work; ability to work well with others; strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent problem-solving skills; ability to utilize resources; and able to work under stressful situations including the ability to perform a variety of tasks effectively and efficiently at the same time.
Recommended Skills Attention To Detail Auditing Confidentiality Elementary Algebra Food Safety Foods Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
