In July of 2022 we received our accreditation to provide Peer, Youth and Family support.
Now we need to build our team! We are currently looking for a Certified Peer Support Specialist willing to help us build this program from the ground up!
Job Description:
The Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) works within their scope of practice as established by BPA Health and Idaho Health and Welfare.
As a fully integrated employee of the professional team, a CPSS can either provide peer support services to adults (18 and older) or to youth (ages 12 to 17) who are experiencing mental health challenges.
All peer support services delivered to the member will promote hope, wellness, recovery, and resiliency for participants.
The CPSS also supports a culture of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, person-centered, strength-based services within the agency by sharing peer support values and lived experience with other team members.
Requirements:
Current Idaho CPSS certification from BPA health and ability to maintain all CPSS requirements High School Diploma or GED Driver's License, current car registration and vehicle insurance Must be able to pass Health and Welfare Enhanced Background Check Lived experience with mental health illness or mental health issue Solid understanding that mental health as a process is unique for each individual Willingness to share one's mental health experience with participants and staff Participate in 90 day and annual evaluation interviews regarding one's experience working as a CPSS Participate in ongoing evaluation of peer support programming Attend all required plan, supervision and employment meetings Work Environment:
The work environment will be a variety of different settings and will be dependent on the member's treatment plan and the location set up by the member and Peer Support Specialist.
The CPSS must be flexible about the hours they work as well as the environment that they are working in.
Work Hours:
Currently we are looking for someone to help us build and assist in managing our new Peer Support Program and provide Peer Support Services for our youth in our transitional program.
Typical hours are Monday-Friday business hours but may vary depending on participants' needs, and may involve evening hours and weekend hours.
Schedules are coordinated with clients, families and supervisors.
